The 3 Types of Content You Should Be Posting (If You Actually Want to Grow)

Let me guess. You’re posting… something. Sometimes it’s informative or random. Sometimes you’re just trying to stay consistent. And none of it feels like it’s building anything. That’s because you’re missing structure. Not effort. Structure. Because content that grows doesn’t happen by accident. It follows a pattern.
There are only 3 types of content that matter. Not ten. Not twenty. Three. And if you’re not using all three, you’re leaving growth on the table.
1. Attention Content (This Is What Gets You Seen)
This is where everything starts. If people don’t stop scrolling then nothing else matters.
What this content does:
Grabs attention immediately
Sparks curiosity
Makes someone need to watch
Examples:
Bold statements
Contrarian takes
“You’re doing this wrong” content
This is not where you explain everything. This is where you interrupt.
2. Value Content (This Is What Builds Trust)
Now that you have attention you need to justify it if you wanna keep it.
What this content does:
Makes people think: “That actually helped”
Positions you as someone worth listening to
Builds credibility over time
Examples:
Tutorials
Breakdowns
Step-by-step guides
This is where your audience starts to trust you. But here’s the problem, most creators ONLY make this type of content. Which means no one sees it in the first place.
3. Connection Content (This Is What Makes People Stay)
This is the piece most people ignore. And it’s why they don’t build an audience, they just get views.
What this content does:
Makes people feel understood
Shows personality
Builds loyalty
Examples:
Opinions
Stories
Real experiences
Behind-the-scenes moments
This is what turns viewers into followers.
How These Work Together (This Is the Important Part)
Individually, these are useful. Together, they create growth.
Attention → gets you seen
Value → makes you credible
Connection → makes people stay
Miss one? Your content feels incomplete.
Example weekly flow:
2 attention posts
2 value posts
1 connection post
That’s enough to start seeing momentum. You don’t need more ideas. You need better structure. Growth isn’t random, it’s built. One intentional piece at a time.
